The Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD) has released an official notice to government employees whose salaries are paid through the Government of Ghana payroll, alerting them to temporary difficulties in accessing some online payroll services.

According to the statement, the Electronic Salary Payment Voucher (ESPV) and E-Payslip systems are currently undergoing a comprehensive system upgrade. Due to this process, some public sector workers may experience challenges logging in or may be unable to view and download their payslips for the time being.

CAGD explained that the upgrade forms part of a wider effort to enhance the efficiency, security, and overall reliability of its digital payroll systems. The Department noted that improvements are necessary to better manage user traffic, minimize operational issues, and ensure smoother service delivery across all government institutions.

The Department assured workers that the disruption is only temporary. Technical teams are actively working to complete the upgrade as quickly as possible, after which the ESPV and E-Payslip platforms are expected to operate more efficiently with improved speed and performance.

While recognizing the inconvenience caused, CAGD appealed to government workers to remain patient and cooperative throughout the upgrade period. Workers were also advised to disregard unverified reports on social media and rely solely on official communications from the Department.

Reaffirming its commitment to transparency and effective payroll administration, the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department thanked all affected workers for their understanding and cooperation. Government employees are encouraged to stay calm, follow updates from official CAGD channels, and await further announcements on the full restoration of ESPV and E-Payslip services.
